Road 2 Greatness Basketball Academy was founded in 2017 by Steven Hurley Jr. and Kentrell King. Coach Hurley and Coach King are enthusiastic about developing high performing athletes and pride themselves on bringing consistent passion and energy to every training session.
Hurley is a former varsity starting guard and team 3-point shooting leader at Marian Catholic High School who has coached and trained young athletes for seven years, including as a volunteer coach for Granada Hills Recreation Center (California), Matteson Community Center, Alsip Park District, Team RWA travel basketball club, and A Step Ahead (Bolingbrook) youth leagues. Hurley is the former Tinley Park High School JV Head Coach and current Varsity Assistant at Marian Catholic High School.
King is a former standout player at Crete-Monee High School, helping lead the team to two Southland Conference titles, four regional titles, and a 2011 IHSA Class 4A Elite Eight finish. As a starting guard at the University of Illinois Springfield, he led the team in assists for three straight seasons. He is head coach for R2G-Meanstreets 2028 and former JV Head Coach for Thornridge High School, former Thornton High School Varisty Assistant and current Homewood-Flossmoor High School Varsity Assistant.
